What's Our Mission?
Our mission is simple, to get people fit. We want to create a utopia of fitness, a "fitopia", by providing the skills necessary to help people achieve a level of fitness they never thought attainable.
What The Hell is a Fitopia?
A Fitopia is a community focused on being as fit as can be, in the most efficient manner possible. This means throwing out the weight loss gimmicks, the serial dieting, the hours of mindless cardio in the gym, and the muscle head workouts you find in [insert extreme name] magazine. In a Fitopia we stay focused on the GOODS, the stuff that is as functional as it is effective. We're not here to just look good, or just get strong, or just get healthy, but all of the above plus some.
What does it mean to be fit?
There is no consensus definition of the word fitness. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services defines physical fitness as "a set of attributes that people have or achieve relating to their ability to perform physical activity."
In a Fitopia we define fitness as being able to do whatever the hell you want (in relation to physical activity of course).
In a Fitopia you're as physically functional as you are aesthetically appealing. You posses the core tenets of fitness: strenght, speed, agility, power, endurance, flexibility, and drive. Those muscles aren't just to "ooooh" and "ahhhh" at, they serve a purpose in allowing you to do any physical activity you please.
